ANHRI presents to the President, before he travels to Saudi-Arabia, some facts related to the case of the Egyptian lawyer “Ahmed El-Gizawy”, who is arrested there. These facts aims to declare the nature of respecting the law in this country and the importance of adopting a different policy, varied from the policy of the ousted dictatorship Mubarak, which led to neglect the dignity of the Egyptians in several countries, in which Saudi-Arabia comes at the top list of them.About the Case of “El- Gizawy”, in respect of the subject:
El-Gizawy was arrested during receiving the seal of the Kingdom to enter Saudi-Arabia and before he enters the department of customs inspection in the King Abdulaziz International Airport near Jeddah. Which emphasis that his name was listed on travel and arrival watch lists, because his political positions from the Saudi regime, therefore, it is naturally, to falsify allegation against him, as a punishment.
El-Gizawy while he was traveling with his wife, carried only two bags. These two bags are not enough to carry a (21380 pills), particullary, his wife took the two bags after he was arrested, with all the be-longness.
The false allegation against El-Gizawy, in accordance with the Saudi penal law, deemed to be a crime, in which a lawyer shall appear with him, but he does not have any lawyers, due to the pressure exercises on several Saudi lawyers, to do not represent him and with the following of the representative of the National Association for Human Rights does not make it a must to have a lawyer to represent him.
In respect of the circumstances of the case:
El-Gizawy is one of the activists, who is known, for stricture criticism to the government of Saudi-Arabi. Therefore, it is not reasonable to travel to a country, in which he opposes its government and carrying all of these amount of pills.
The Saudi ambassador in Cairo, confided him lying and false alleged, whether for the case of El-Gizawy or the tens of the cases of the Egyptian arrested there, among them the youth “Yusuf Ashmawy”.
The government of Essam Sharf and after the revolution, released Saudi prisoners, convicted by a criminal cases, which requires a reciprocity from the Saudi government.
The Saudi embassy in Egypt, refused to grant the visa to a number of the Egyptian lawyers to travel to Saudi-Arabia to review the file of El-Gizawy and meet him to contentment of safety of the legal procedures.
It is not reasonable that Egypt allows lawyers from a country of the Gulf-region to enter Egypt to defend the ousted dictator Mubarak, while it does not exert any effort to hire a lawyer to El-Gizawy, wither Egyptian or Saudi.
The Egyptian embassy in Saudi-Arabia, are headed by one of the worst Egyptian diplomats “Mahmoud Ouf”, who is known for his be-longness to old regime and complicity, for several years, against the rights of the Egyptians their in favor of the Saudi regime.
ANHRI said that “with the inspection, even for a little while, about the human rights in the Saudi-Arabia and its record in respecting the rule of law, will reveal, easily, a black history of hostility to the human rights and familiarity to lie and false allegations as well as its fixed methodology of arresting hundreds if not thousands of its citizens and the foreign labor, in particularly, the poor of the third world, without investigations or trials, who raise their voices against suppression or who have a miserable luck to make them fall in the hands of the corrupted businessmen, sponsorship system, that linked by interests with the Saudi regime. All of these are in the light of an international sour collusion, smelled by oil and economic and political interests”.
ANHRI asks “Dr. Mohamed Morsi” the Egyptian president, to forget the visitation of the Egyptian delegation, which included the Parliament speaker and some paramilitary and public figures and it was like a shopping and recreation trip!! he should clearly ask the release of the Egyptian lawyer “Ahmed El-Gizawy” and tens, if not hundreds, of the innocent Egyptians who are arrested in the depth of the Saudi prisons, without investigations or trials. He should further asks that the defendants should be represented by Egyptian lawyers, in application with the rule of law, and end the era of the dictator Mubarak, who did not care about anything, but the stabilization of his rule, regardless the dignity of the Egyptians, whether inside or abroad.
