Severe pressures result in the halting of Akher Kalam show
ANHRI strongly condemns the ongoing restriction imposed on media freedoms, continuing after about nine months since the outbreak of the Egyptian uprising. The Military Council took over power in the transitional phase to protect the revolution and realize its goals. However, the Military Council still exercises constant pressures, limiting freedom of expression and media freedoms. Therefore, the prominent media professional Yosri Fouda decided to halt his show “Akher Kalam”, broadcast on ONTV, for an indefinite period for “the deterioration of media freedom”
