The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights’ calls the Egyptian Supreme Military Council for the immediate release of the protesting students

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) expresses its worry
for the continuous detaining of 129 students, who went on a protest in front of the Israeli Embassy in Giza and calls the Egyptian Supreme Military Council for the immediate release of the protesting students and referring the investigation to the Prosecutor General Office
On May 16, EOHR received complaints from the arrested protesters’ families. The protesters were memorizing the Palestinian catastrophe, denouncing the Israeli practices against the civilian Palestinian people. The prosecutor General questioned the students, who were charged of damaging cars, public properties, attacking police and military officers.
In this concern, Mr. hafez Abu Seads, the head of EOHR, emphasized that the mentioned students are supposed to take their final examinations in these weeks; so he called the Egyptian Supreme Council for immediate release of the young students in order to protect their educational future. He also emphasized on the constitutional right of expression and the right of assembly and the necessity for applying the international standards for human rights
