Editors Of State Owned Newspapers Should Go Now

that editors of national newspapers should be expelled immediately, and replaced by honest journalists who respect the mission of the press. It is not right that they should chair newspapers and magazines as they have misled the people and supported the dictator and made a god of him for so long.
On top of those journalists who must leave immediately, the editors of “Al-Ahram , Rose AlYoussef, alAkhbar ,alGumhuria , alMusawar and October , as they incited against pro-democracy demonstrators during the revolution of January 25 and immediately after the overthrow of dictator, they switched 180 degrees, to make believe they are supporters of the revolution and democracy.
The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information sees that the decision to expel these chameleons must be accompanied with the decision of meriting journalists who have been persecuted and pursued because of their stances in support of democracy and the struggle against corruption, such as Ibrahim Eissa, Hamdi Kandil, Abdel Halim Kandil and others who paid a dear price for holding on to their principles. They should be back to their jobs as a primary measure to merit them.
Gamal Eid, Director of the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information said , “Editors of state owned newspapers t supported the dictator Mubarak and made a god out of him . Now they began to practice the same cheap hypocrisy with the military Council unaware that council does not need it and will not be deceived by cheap flattery”.
“These journalists do not know but flattery and hypocrisy are always looking for someone to appease . We want trusted journalists whom the Egyptian people would respect . We need those who would honestly report news and deliver information with integrity, journalists who really belong to this honored mission and believe in the sanctity of the press profession . Unfortunately, the present editors of state owned newspapers have no such credentials, they, therefore, should be expelled immediately
